TERRACERÍA es una productora cinematográfica colombiana fundada por Andrés Chaves, especializada en cine documental cuyo objetivo es abordar los fenómenos urbanos y arquitectónicos, sus transformaciones históricas y su incidencia actual en el bienestar ciudadano. Y aunque son películas desarrolladas en geografías concretas, encuentran relevancia y resonancia universal en las ciudades contemporáneas.



TERRACERÍA is a Colombian film production company founded by Andrés Chaves, specialized in documentary filmmaking with the aim of exploring urban and architectural phenomena, their historical transformations, and their current impact on citizens’ well-being. Although these films are developed in specific geographies, they find universal relevance and resonance within contemporary cities.

No tiene precedentes en la historia colombiana que un magnífico barrio colonial, formado por familias y negocios tradicionales, se convirtiera en el hogar de miles de indigentes y mafias. Sus calles y antiguas casonas se convirtieron en fumaderos de bazuco. Este es un documental que reconstruye la memoria rota del barrio El Cartucho en Bogotá. Es una historia de degradación que representa una sociedad que trata de barrer la basura debajo del tapete. Después de su violenta demolición en 2001 el gobierno construyó un parque estéril que la gente teme. Pero el legado del Cartucho se mantiene en la cercanía. Destruimos el barrio, pero la rabia se mantiene.



There is no precedent in Colombian history for a magnificent colonial neighborhood, shaped by traditional families and businesses, to have turned into the home of thousands of homeless people and criminal gangs. Its streets and old mansions became bazuco dens. This is a documentary that reconstructs the broken memory of the El Cartucho neighborhood in Bogotá. It is a story of degradation that represents a society trying to sweep its trash under the rug. After its violent demolition in 2001, the government built a sterile park that people fear. But the legacy of El Cartucho remains nearby. We destroyed the neighborhood, but the anger remains

LA HORTÚA

La Hortúa, hospital cerrado y abandonado por el gobierno colombiano en 2001, aún alberga antiguos trabajadores y sus familias que, como forma de protesta ante el histórico cierre, han resuelto vivir allí. Edificios antiguos, del que fuera el hospital más importante en Colombia, se vienen abajo mientras sus habitantes, observados en actos cotidianos, resultan calladas presencias fantasmagóricas en medio de la soledad, el silencio, la quietud, y el implícito cuestionamiento sobre el pasado y el devenir del hospital.



La Hortúa, a hospital closed and abandoned by the Colombian government in 2001, still shelters former workers and their families who, as a form of protest against its historic shutdown, have chosen to live there. The old buildings of what was once the most important hospital in Colombia are falling apart, while its inhabitants—observed in their everyday actions—become silent, ghostly presences amid solitude, silence, stillness, and the implicit questioning of the hospital’s past and its future.

Este documental sigue su viaje espiritual en busca de respuestas, entrelazando mitología, formas de vida junto al río y la lucha por la supervivencia ambiental en la moderna Bogotá.


When the ancient Muisca divine being, Bochica, returns after centuries of absence to the Bogotá River, he is confronted with a desolate landscape. The waters he once tamed now threaten to overflow, victims of urban development. This documentary follows his spiritual journey in search of answers, weaving together mythology, ways of life along the river, and the struggle for environmental survival in modern Bogotá.
